Detailed Match Narrative
Men's Doubles 1
In the 1st Men's Doubles match, skipper Krishna Teja and southpaw Vineet Mutyala had a great start with a break in the 1st game and continued their momentum to seal the 1st set 4-1 of the inaugural match of the inaugural Hyderabad Padel League.
In the 2nd set, veteran Soli and teenager Dhruva combo rallied hard to hold their service games till 3-3, then in the tiebreak too they continued to maintain the rallies and won it 7-4.
In the 3rd set (match tiebreak), Teja and Vineet took control from the first point itself with good bandejas and off the glass play to clinch the set 7-4 and the match, giving Hy-Rollers its first win and the overall lead.
Women's Doubles
In the 2nd match (Women's Doubles), Padma Veda and Maithili made light work over the opponents with southpaw Veda playing aggressively with good returns and volleys while Maithili defended well with her off the glass play to win the match 4-0, 4-2 over Veda Raju Prapurna and Deepmala Jha.
Men's Doubles 2
In the 2nd Men's Doubles, seasoned southpaw Yaswanth Reddy and DRC Kiron made a steady start, winning the first set 4-1. Anvita Aces skipper Rama Rishabh and Rohan came back stronger with minimal errors and patience to force the opponents to make errors, closing the set in the tiebreak and clinching the match tiebreak in a closely contested 7-5 to keep their hope in the match alive.
Mixed Doubles
The Mixed Doubles match was a thriller, with Soli and Shivani rallying well to keep the ball in play and let the opponents make errors to close the first set in the tiebreak 9-7.
In the second set, southpaw Padma Veda and Jayanth played aggressively with good volleys, returning and defending well off the glass to win the set in the tiebreak 7-1.
The match tiebreak started off on holding serves till 4-3. Then Shivani was broken to give the Rollers a 6-3 lead with 3 match points. Soli played the anchor role and Shivani used her tennis experience to take a 7-6 lead with a match point. Both teams rallied hard and stayed patient before Hy-Rollers sealed the set and the tie 10-8.
